Promise of Christ

Promise of Christ Justin Tweito

1 Verse
God the eternal created all things
Calling it good as he brought it to be
There we communed in the cool of the day
In perfect submission we walked in His way
The tempter presented a lesser delight
And we chose rebellion against our design
Sin brought a wage and our death was its price
Thank God for the promise of Christ

Chorus:
From Him to Him are all things
All blessing and honor; glory and power
Forever Amen

2 Verse
Christ the incarnate, the human divine
The prophet, the priest, and the king has arrived
Healing and teaching he showed us the way
To trust and obey him to follow in faith
Coming to seek and to save what was lost
By paying the debt that we owed on the cross
The sound of salvation was heard in His cry
Thank God for the promise of Christ

3 Verse
Christ resurrected, the victory's won
The Spirit of Jesus now dwelling in us
His church is established, the work is prepared
The truth of the Gospel, the hope to declare
We long for the day when our Lord will return
His kingdom is bringing new heavens new earth
Our tears wiped away, no sorrow, no night
Thank God for the promise of Christ
