Closer Still

The Castellows

Closer Still The Castellows

1 Verse:
The road I walk is dark and dim
Heavy burden's the weight of sin
I stumble on I make my way
When shall I find my resting place
Yet in the dark I see a glow
A distant light down the road
Far and faint it yet may be
Closer still I draw to thee

Chorus:
Closer still in the morning
Closer still in the east
I am a pilgrim and I'm walking
Closer still I draw to thee

2 Verse:
I wear these scars like heavy leather
I wear these tears like pretty lace
Through the shame of stormy weather
To the cross I find your grace
There is a fountain for the weary
There is forgiveness on your breath
'Til then I'm on the straight and narrow
Until I find my place to rest

Chorus:
Closer still in the morning
Closer still in the east
I am a pilgrim and I'm walking
Closer still I draw to thee

Outro:
I am a pilgrim and I'm walking
Closer still I draw to thee
