Intro:
C#m A E
C#m A E

1 Verse:
  C#m A E
I found them standing in my door
       C#m A E
In the clumsy silence of the poor
     C#m A
I've got no time for precious things
       E H/D#
But at least they won't be wondering
           C#m A
If they're sleeping on my stable
      E
Floor

Intrumental:
C#m A E

2 Verse:
      C#m A E
There were no rooms to rent tonight
    C#m A
The only empty bed is mine
          C#m A
Cause I'm overbooked and overrun with so
E H/D#
Many things that must be done
  C#m A E
Until I'm numb and running blind

Chorus:
C#m G#m A E
I need rest, I need rest
       C#m A
Lost inside a forest of a million trees
F#m A2
Trying to find my way back to me

I need
Intrumental:
C#m A E
Rest

3 Verse:
     C#m A E
As a boy I heard the old men sing
        C#m A E
About a kingdom and a coming King
    C#m A
But keeping books and changing beds put
  E H/D#
A different song inside my head
    C#m A E
The melody is deafening

Chorus:
C#m G#m
I need rest, oh
A E H/D#
I need rest
       C#m A
Like a drowning man in the open sea
  F#m A2
I need somebody to rescue me

I need
C#m A E
Rest

Bridge:
   F#m C#m E
To Rome we're only names and numbers
    F#m C#m E
Not souls in search of signs and wonders
      A E H/D#
We're waiting for the day of our salvation
       A E H/D#
The Messiah who will be our liberation. We're
F#m
Waiting

I'm
A
Waiting

Chorus:
C#m G#m
I need rest
A E
I need rest
  C#m A F#m
O come, O come, Emmanuel with a sword deliver
       A
Israel
       A H
I need rest

4 Verse:
C#m A E
Tonight I can't get any sleep
           C#m A E
With those sheperds shouting in the street
  C#m A
A star is shining much too bright
    E H/D#
Somewhere I hear a baby cry
    C#m A E
And all I want is a little peace
